Au contraire - Larry had the problem - and, while HE may be too modest to mention it - he has written the best instructions for solving the issue that I have seen anywhere. My own H&R OM was a fantastic shooter - ragged cloverleafs off the bench at 50yds, but I have not shot it, or even fixed it, since it blew open on me. I'll probably fit an original block as he did.

For those shooting any sort of H&R, I HIGHLY recommend replacing the mainspring with an original. H&R used a crappy piece of flat stock, tndifferently tempered, which is quite mushy. The SA spring makes the lock feel much crisper, and lock time HAS to be shorter. On mine, it was a drop-in - NO fitting at all.
