I had planned on buying a shooter, but paid $600 for it. I had looked at other rifles of similar age and they were in the range of $1000. I am not an expert in this area but thought it looked good. I will get more info once I have the gun in hand. Is the caliber correct (45-70) or does that indicated a cut down rifle. Again the barrel and receiver numbers match, so the barrel could have been replaced with a different caliber and if so, does that effect the collectability of the rifle.
