Re: breech screw

While it is impossible to determine what caused YOUR problem, such cracks are NOT common, ESPECIALLY on arms in "excellent" condition. That is a very strong part.

Use care in swapping the screw (some are very tight, others come out fairly easily), and be sure you get a patina match to the block. If it still has case-color, then the screw needs the same amount. Suggest pull the old one and send it to one of the parts suppliers listed on the home page, for a match.
