SN and Markings, do they match
Posted by Tom Clayton on Saturday, 15 November 2008, at 10:30 p.m.
The SN on my 1873 trapdoor is 287887. It has the SWP1884 cartouche above the trigger guard and the P behind the trigger guard. It also has an A engraved forward of the front screw on the trigger guard. There is a U engraved on each barrel clamp and the letters V P (something ground out) and P horizontally just above the wood line on the receiver between the rear sight and trap plate. Does all of this match? Is there any question of authenticity? Where can I go for help with these questions. Your assistance is appreciated.
