M70 Carbine
M70 Carbine,
Model 1870 Springfield carbine. A total of 341 of these were built by
the
armory. Gun is in good condition with a number of moderate dings. There
is
a small crack running upwards from the trigger plate which should be a
fairly easy repair. Rifling is strong with light pitting throughout. ESA
cartouche is strong, but lower portion is marred with some sort of number
or I.D. or something. Firing proof is very good. All parts are correct,
and screws are in great shape, except for the sight slide retaining screw.
there are some light vise marks just ahead of the receiver in their usual
spot. Overall finish is lightly freckled with minor surface pitting.
