Hagner No. 2 Cartridge box modified for cavalry use. This is a standard box that has had the closing finial and closing tab reversed. According to Dorsey's book on Indain War Cartridges, Pouches, Boxes and Carbine Boots, (page 45) this is a cavalry variation. However, this box is for 50-70, not 45-70 cartridges.
