SPENT CARTRIDGES FOUND IN A CACHE AT FT McCREA(sp?), New Mexico Territory.
The upper six
cases are 50-70 Martin primed that were fired from a trapdoor leaving the
angled firing pin indentation. The short cases without an R or C designation are Frankford
Arsenal blanks used at the fort. The four rifle
and carbine cases were found in the same cache. All were made at
Frankford Arsenal and the angular indentation from the firing pin means
they were all fired from a Springfield trapdoor. All for $20 +
S/H.
