Early single hooked sling is marked Watervillet Arsenal. It is a two piece constuction having the lower loop stitched to the sling. The leather is extremely soft and is suggested for a display gun and not for service. The sling leather is not what I would call serviceable. It is much too old. The stamping is clear on the leather. when it was made, the two pieces of leather have hook holes in them. I thought this to be unusal, but the stitching and the splice are definitely armory work.
