Early Dyer Sling
This is an unused sling made for the
early Dyer pouch. The sling is over six feet long and made from
a single piece of leather. There are five insection stamps on
the sling and single flat brass hooks on both ends. Several of the stamps
are readable, if you know the stamp. the rectangle with numbers on the
inside is the most difficult one to read.
The two sets of holes have never been used and there are no folds in the
leather. The sling is missing the two thin leather keepers. No one seems
to have an explanation for the sliding buckle device.
