M66 F-P War Rifle
This is an EXCELLENT example of an M66 refurbished for the
Franco-Prussian War. These arms were shipped to France to late to be
used in the war, so SH&G bought most of them and returned them to the USA.
They were sold to the public. Evidently this one was well shielded from
the elements and remains like new. You can see the original cartouches
that were almost totally sanded from the flat. The one deep and clear
HSH cartouche is the identifying mark for these rifles. The stock still has
the script N firing proof. It will be hard
to find one in nicer condition.
