This is a M1868 Rifle. The four cartouches are sharp & clean, it retains a
well struck L firing proof and the stock maintains sharp edges with
excellent wood-to-metal fit. There are, however, two small areas at the
buttstock and three between the lockplate & upper band that show evidence
of fill (shallow gouges?) that does not detract from the appearance of the
rifle. Metal is bright and shiny, has not been overcleaned, the breech
still retains some of its original darkened finish, and it has a mirror
bore. The buttplate is stamped .US, F, 15.. $800.00 plus Shipping. Contact
