Model 1884 Cadet Rifle
MODEL 1884 CADET RIFLE SN 480021. This is a very nice trapdoor cadet
that has seen some service, but has not been sanded. The circle P and
SWP/1886 cartouche are deep and sharp. Since the serial number and
cartouche do not agree, I assume the gun was repaired at the cadet post or
possibly the parts from several guns were mixed during a cleaning. The
stock has suffered a number of dings and brouses during its period of
service. This is typical for cadet rifles. The bore in this gun is
excellent. There is a very small patch of scale near the muzzle that is
shallow and very minor.
