Model 1884 Carbine

M84 Carbine, SN452417

MODEL 1884 Carbine with all the appropriate features. The carbine is cartouched SWP/1889, I think. the last digit is in the right location for the 9, and has the right orientation. However, it will take a bright light to be sure. The stock has very few dings and has not been sanded. There is one filled ding beside the circled P on the stock. That is the only significant mark in the stock. There are some color lines across the butt stock, but not damage marks. I consider this stock to be excellent, for a carbine, both rich in color and unsanded. The barrel has some blue near the receiver, but is brown near the muzzle. The strong blue band around the sight is from a M83 sight cover that must have been in it for most of its service life. The lack of a M90 rear sight protector indicates the carbine was not refurbished for the Sp-Am War. The breech block and tang retain some of their color case on the outside, and the breech block has strong color on the underside. The bore on the carbine has shallow rifling and is in excellent shape. There are no corrosion spots in the bore, but the bore is not as shiny as expected. $1875 + S/H.
