M73 Carbine
M73 Carbine SN43397
This is an 1875 production carbine that has seen some service.
The cartouche is weak, but visible, and in the right place. The
circled P can be
seen in the photos. The front sight has the hidden pin which is
correct. The barrel is the early version without the burst proofs on the
bottom and no V/P/Eagle/p. The
butt plate is the thin ribbed style which is correct. The breech system
is correct except it has the tall extractor rather than the short
version. The bore is very nice with bright rifling and only two small
patches of darkness. The stock has been cracked around the hammer at
some time in the past. That crack has been repaired. The trigger
assembly is correct for this early carbine. The lock and hammer are
the correct ones for the gun and it has a three click tumbler. The M73
carbine sight is held with the original slotless screws.
$4350 + S/H.
