This is a very nice entrenching tool with good leather and a clean blade. There are two versions of this tool. This one is the one with the long handle. The handle of the tool is marked US and the upper corner of the scabbard is also marked US. This tool has the most common mounting mechanism which is the slit-ring. Some are found with the leather loop for going over the belt. I believe the split ring was for mounting to the D rings found on the praire belt. You can see where the leather scabbard is worn caused by rubbing of the ring during service. It is hard to find these tools in better condition. $550 + S/H.
