M77 Carbine, SN143274
This M77 carbine was produced in 1880 and has the key-hole butt plate. The bore in the gun is perfect with deep rifling, no
pitting or gray areas and very shiny. The metal on the gun has original Springfield blue and is in very good condition.
The stock has been sanded and refinished. There is a small crack in the stock before the rear lock bolt. This is a typical
location on these stocks and the crack evidently is from the stock drying, and never seems to go any further. The
circled P is very faint and the
cartouche is gone. This gun has had the
front sight blade replaced with the taller M84 blade which makes it more convenient for short range shooting.
